Plain Weave does not mean Boring Weave! Plain one color, over-under weaves have lots uses in our projects but there are times when we want and need something more. This class will be about finding the unplain in plain weave. We'll look at color and texture. This class will give experienced weavers a chance to expand their repertoire of weaving techniques, and if you are new to weaving on the continuous strand looms you can learn that style of weaving at the same time. We'll be looking at simple color weaving patterns and also at textures and show you can even combine the two to expand possibilities in your projects. It adds a whole new layer to the enjoyment of your looms. We'll also talk about the process of designing your own patterns.
Level: Experienced Beginner - you should know how to weave a continuous strand loom.
Ages: 14+
Materials Fee: none - I'll supply yarn for this class & will have a limited number of Looms available to borrow.
Options: looms can be purchased in the Hazel Rose Looms booth.
Please Bring: a continuous strand square loom. Any size continuous weave square will work but I recommend the 10 1/2", 12" or 14", though you could use the 7" also if that's what you have. Your Hazel Rose Quilt Weaver square is perfect for this class too. The new Fine Sett square will also work, though the texture patterns may need modification for them.
